A versatile horse healthcare product, the Animalintex Poultice is dressing for minor horse injuries such as splints, sore shins, sprains and bruises. When applied, Animalintex relieves and prevents swelling and treats open and infected wounds, cracked heels and mud fever. Can also be used for laminitis, thrush, seedy toe, corns and puncture wounds. The poultice can be applied either as a wet hot or cold dressing, depending on the needs of the particular situation. Non-sterile, this poultice dressing can be used on horses and dogs.

Directions of Use

Hot poultice dressingCut the dressing to size and place in a shallow tray of boiled water which has been allowed to cool to 38°c (100°c). Once it is saturated, remove the dressing and gently squeeze out excess water. Place on the affected area with the plastic backing away from the skin. Hold in place with stretch conforming, elastic adhesive or cohesive bandage. For open wounds, normal antiseptic precautions must be taken. Cold poultice dressing After soaking the dressing in boiled water, allow the dressing to cool thoroughly. Then apply to the affected area. Can also be chilled, kept in the bag, in a refrigerator.Dry dressing/Pressure paddingSimply apply the dressing directly and bandage with stretch conforming, elastic adhesive or cohesive bandage.
